What is a good R22 refrigerant replacement?

By Forinfos - 28/05/2026 - 0 comments

Replacements for R22 refrigerant include R-134a, R-507 and R407c. These refrigerants are designed to provide a cleaner alternative to R-22, which began being phased out of use in January 2010 and is expected to be completely banned by 2020, as of January 2016.

Home and vehicle owners that need to service a cooling system can still use R-22, but experts suggest replacing it with one of the new refrigerants that do not have as large an environmental impact. Aside from not producing HFCs that deplete the Earth's ozone layer, the newer refrigerants are also more efficient, resulting in potential cost savings.
