One of the best-rated recipes for meatballs on the Food Network website is also among the easiest. Supplied by a restaurant featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," it combines sauteed onions and garlic with milk, eggs, herbs, seasonings, bread crumbs, cheese, beef and pork before cooking.
Meatballs
This recipe yields 10 servings. For best results, it is recommended to use freshly grated bread crumbs as opposed to store-bought alternatives.

Ingredients:
- 5 cups breadcrumbs
- 2 cups grated Parmigiano-Reggiano or Pecorino Romano cheese
- 1 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp. kosher or sea salt
- 1 tbsp. ground black pepper
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 4 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed and chopped
- 2 1/2 lbs. ground beef
- 2 1/2 lbs. ground pork
- 1 cup warm water
- Mix the dry ingredients

- Saute the garlic
- Add the meat
- Preheat the oven and shape the meatballs
- Cook the meatballs
Mix together the bread crumbs, cheese, herbs, red pepper, black pepper and salt in a large bowl.
In another bowl, thoroughly beat together the eggs and milk and set aside in t he refrigerator.
Heat a small skillet on a medium setting, then add olive oil and garlic to saute for around 3-4 minutes. Set aside.
Lightly combine the beef and pork with the seasoned cheese and bread crumb mixture. Mix together with the egg and milk, warm water and sauteed garlic.
Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and shape the meatballs into 7 or 8-ounce spheres. Place into a baking dish, being careful to keep them separate.
Cook for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
