Where is a Goodman furnace installed?

Goodman furnaces can be installed in many places in a typical home, including the basement, attic, garage, closet or mechanical room. The optimal place to install a Goodman furnace depends on the floor plan of the home and the location of gas lines.

Modern Goodman furnaces that use direct-venting systems have more flexibility in regards to where they can be installed in a home, as they do not require a chimney to vent exhaust gases. This makes placing a furnace in a closet or garage near a gas line a practical option, provided that the location is also close enough to an exterior wall to run an exhaust pipe to the outside of the house.
