Hair loss is not a side effect of Calmette-Guerin treatment, according to the American Cancer Association. Common effects from the treatment include flu-like symptoms.
This can include, fever, chills and fatigue. On occasion, the treatment can lead to an infection which can produce more serious side effects. A symptom of an infection is a high fever that does not go away, or go down with fever reducing medications. When a person using the treatment experiences severe symptoms, he should talk to his doctor to determine if the side effects and risks outweigh the benefits he will receive from continuing treatment.
