What is hairbrush discipline?
By Forinfos - 25/01/2026 - 0 comments
Hairbrush discipline is the act of punishing a child by spanking him with a hairbrush, paddle or similar object, usually on the buttocks. It is an old-fashioned form of corporal punishment.
The child's parent usually handles the spanking. Some experts allege that spanking and other methods of physical punishment are ineffective as discipline, as children often break the rules again after punishment. Medical experts warn against using corporal punishment because it can lower self esteem, promote violent behavior and cause other psychological problems in children, even when they become adults. As of 2014, many U.S. parents still spank their children, according to some studies.
