There are several methods for removing hairspray from a sticky curling iron. One simple way requires only a cool and unplugged curling iron, a clean cloth or paper towel, and a bottle of rubbing alcohol.

  1. Dampen a corner of the cloth with rubbing alcohol

    Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol on the cloth until it is damp.

  2. Rub damp cloth on curling iron

    Rub the alcohol up and down the barrel of the curling iron.

  3. Dampen the clean portion of the cloth with water, and rub over barrel

    Clean the rubbing alcohol off the curling iron by wetting the clean portion of the cloth and rubbing over the barrel.
