What happens if you freeze cheesecake?

It is possible to freeze a cheesecake as long as it is properly packed and sealed. The cheesecake is at optimum freshness for the first month and retains no freezer burn. To properly wrap a cheesecake, you need plastic food wrap, aluminum foil and a large freezer bag.

Create a makeshift bottom by covering a piece of cardboard with foil. Wrap the cheesecake in plastic wrap, and place inside the freezer bag. For more protection, add a layer of aluminum foil over the freezer bag. Label and date the cheesecake. If your cheesecake requires fresh toppings, it is best to make and serve them when you unfreeze the cheesecake.
