Glasses that are returned to LensCrafters are used to improve the eyesight of people who are not able to afford eyeglasses or exams. The “Give the Gift of Sight†program was started by company associates in 1988. As of April 2014, it has helped over 8.5 million people.
Project NySee, LensCrafters' New York City-based program, uses a van with on-board eye exam equipment to visit schools and provide eye exams to school children who cannot afford them. Project NySee visited two New York City public schools in April of 2014 and provided eye glasses to school children within 30 minutes of their exam.
