Some hardy flowering perennial bushes are Azalea, Japanese Rose and the Butterfly Bush. These bushes do well in sunny to partial shade areas and are most hardy in zones four to eight. Mock Orange, Lilac and Mountain Laurel are other bushes that do well in moist, well-drained soil.
Another choice is the Flowering Quince. It blooms in orange, bright red or peach pink flowers. Rhododendron do well in full-shaded areas and come in several varieties. Ninebark is one of the hardiest of all flowering bushes and is able to tolerate extreme conditions. Annual pruning is often required for maintaining healthy plants.
