Is having talc in makeup bad?
By Forinfos - 30/10/2025 - 0 comments
The existence of talc in commercially produced cosmetics is not bad. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) only allows talc that is free from asbestos to be used in cosmetics. Cosmetics that are inspected and approved by the FDA are safe to use.
Talc is a naturally occurring mineral that is mined from the earth. Due to the close proximity of talc and asbestos in the earth, it is possible for asbestos to mix with talc. In an effort to mine pure talc efficiently, mining sites are chosen carefully and must adhere to very strict standards when purifying the ore.
