How often does a hawthorn tree flower?

The hawthorn tree, commonly known as a May-tree, flowers yearly from March to June. It produces distinctive bright red berries known as haws between May and September.

The flowers produced by the hawthorn tree are often white with a pinkish-blue tinge, grouped in clusters of nine to 18 blooms. Widely used as a hedgerow shrub due to its thorny, dense nature, it also provides vital winter food for birds in the form of haws. The trees often reach 250 years of age, and the hawthorn is able to flower every year, provided that it is in good health and is well tended.
