China lies within both the northern and eastern hemispheres. The country is situated between North Korea and Vietnam. Comprising a total area of 3.7 million square miles, it makes up a large part of eastern Asia.

China has a population of about 1.3 billion people, as of 2014, making it the most populated country in the world.
