What are hemlock schnauzers?

A Hemlock Schnauzer is a Miniature Schnauzer bred by Massachusetts dog breeder Kathy Bellerose, who operates under the business name of "Hemlock Schnauzers." Bosco, a product of Bellerose's breeding program, appeared on the TODAY show on a segment called "Canine Chill."

The Miniature Schnauzer is a small, sturdy terrier. It is energetic, affectionate and playful. It is primarily a companion dog but can also be a good watchdog or ratter. It needs plenty of exercise and should be socialized young to accept cats and other small pets if it is to live with them. Miniature Schnauzers do well in agility and obedience competitions and as trick dogs.
