Mount Everest is located on the Tibet-Nepal border in the Himalayan Mountains in Asia. It is situated in the Tibetan Plateau Qing Zang Gaoyuan; its summit is directly between Tibet and Nepal.
The Himalayan mountain range is the tallest in the world, spanning across six countries: China, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bhutan and Afghanistan. Apart from Mount Everest, the other top five tallest mountains in the world include K2 at 28,251 feet, Kangchenjunga at 28,169 feet, Lhotse at 27,940 feet, Makalu at 27,838 feet and Cho Oyu at 26,864 feet.
