What kind of Beanie Baby is Speedy?

The Beanie Baby Speedy is a baby turtle, and he is one of the original Beanie Babies and one of the first to feature printed fabric. Speedy was first introduced on June 24, 1994, had a birthday of August 14, 1994 and was retired on Oct. 1, 1997.

Beanie Babies were first launched by Ty in 1993, and by 1995 had become a collectible. The nine original Beanie Babies were Brownie the Bear, Chocolate the Moose, Flash the Dolphin, Legs the Frog, Patti the Platypus, Pinchers the Lobster, Splash the Whale, Spot the Dog and Squealer the Pig. In 2008, a new line called Beanie Babies 2.0 was launched that allowed access to a Beanie Babies interactive website.
