What are some of the prominent Autobots?

As of 2015, some of the more prominent Autobots are Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Sideswipe, Strongarm and Fixit. The protagonists of the Transformers franchise, Autobots are often in conflict with Decepticons, the antagonists of the franchise.

Since the Transformer franchise introduced the Autobots in 1984, the characters and the forms they take have changed overtime. For example, Optimus Prime, first introduced as the Autobot Commander, usually transforms into a semi-truck and trailer, but the make and model of the truck has changed over the years. In different series Bumblebee has transformed into a Volkswagen Beetle, a Chevrolet Camaro and different fictional car models.
