Typically, hospice care is covered by Medicare according to Medicare.gov. The services covered include care given in the home or at a medical facility.
In order for a person to be covered regarding hospice under Medicare, he must meet eligibility requirements as stated by Celerian Group Company. One requirement is that the patients be terminally ill as certified by a doctor. He must also have a life expectancy of 6 months or less. Medicare covers services rendered by doctors and nurses along with medical equipment and supplies. It also covers medications, physical therapy and other types of therapy that are deemed necessary by medical professionals.
