The Hudson Hornet is an American-made automobile that was built and sold from 1951 through 1957. The Hornet originally came standard with a 145 horsepower straight-six engine. In 1954, Hudson merged with Nash-Kelvinator; the Hornet was then completely redesigned, and it was offered with a 208hp V8 engine in 1955.
Originally, the Hudson Hornet cost between $2,568 and $3,099, depending on which model configuration was purchased. Of the four available Hornet model configurations, the luxurious Convertible Brougham has been the most highly sought-after. In June 2014, Hemmings estimated the value of a show-quality Hornet Convertible Brougham to be around $47,000.
