Hull pottery is the product of the A.E. Hull Pottery Company of Crooksville, Ohio. Founded in 1905, Hull Pottery made a variety of utilitarian and decorative ceramics, including lamps, piggy banks, bread boxes and flower vases, many of which are valued as collectibles.
Hull's best-known piece was a Little Red Riding Hood cookie jar released in 1943. The popularity of this item led to a whole line of Little Red Riding Hood objects, including teapots, pitchers, jam jars and salt and pepper shakers. Hull Pottery was hugely successful, producing millions of pieces before finally closing its doors in 1986. Genuine Hull items are highly collectible, and mint condition pieces can bring a good price.
