What is an ideal puppy feeding schedule?
By Forinfos - 04/02/2025 - 0 comments
Once a puppy is fully weaned off its mother's milk at about 8 weeks of age, the owner should feed the puppy three times each day, at 7 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. When the puppy is 14 to 18 weeks old, the owner can eliminate the middle feeding.
Puppies require a consistent feeding schedule, so an owner should not leave food out all the time for a puppy. While the owner can adjust the exact timing of each feeding to suit his schedule, arranging the final daily feeding for 5 p.m. gives the puppy sufficient opportunity to eliminate one final time before falling asleep for the night. Puppies need 60 to 90 minutes of quiet time after each meal to ensure proper digestion.
