A No Parking sign is commonly identified by the colors red and white. Most the signs state diplay the phrase “No Parking," and some basic signs only give this warning.
Specific No Parking signs include a directive, such as anytime or from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. It may include additional information such as identification of bike lanes, fire lanes, tow away zones or private property. The information is meant to explain why not to park there or what the penalty is for doing so. An alternate type of No Parking sign displays a black capitalized “P†that is circled in red with a slash through it.
