What is an impact testing machine?
By Forinfos - 10/02/2025 - 0 comments
Impact testing machines are used in the plastic and metal industries to understand material strength, durability and failure behavior. Impact testing is achieved by either a pendulum impact machine or a drop weight tester.
Impact testing machines release high amounts of energy between 0.5 joules and several kilojoules for each test. Test specimens are often notched to observe behavior at a single fracture and various temperatures. These tests are often performed on numerous samples of similar materials to understand which would perform best for a given application. To ensure accurate results, produce test specimens from the same machine using the same methods.
