To get a Maryland voter registration, individuals need to complete an online application that requires them to provide a valid Maryland-issued state ID number or driver's license number. To be eligible to vote, an individual needs to be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Maryland and at least 16 years old, states the Maryland State Board of Elections.
Residents of Maryland can apply for their voter registration online or by post. The application includes basic identifying information. Those who are eligible to vote receive a Voter Notification Card about 3 weeks after submitting the application. The registration is permanent for those who continue to live in the state.
