Are infrared heaters more energy efficient than regular heaters?

Infrared heaters are more energy efficient than traditional heaters since they produce heat without the need to heat up the air in a room to raise the temperature. Infrared heat waves are distributed evenly throughout the room, requiring 35 to 50 percent less energy than traditional radiant heating.
Infrared heaters operate without carbon combustion, causing no harmful pollutants to be added to the air. There is no heat loss with an infrared heater, since all the heat is directed to the point where it is required. Traditional heating loses up to 30 percent of the heat created before it reaches the area to be heated.
