What are some insecticides that kill ground bees?

Aerosol pesticides containing pyrethrum, such as CB Extra or PT 565 Plus, are effective against ground bees and other kinds of yellow jackets. Following application of an aerosol spray, prevent future hatching by treating the ground with an insecticidal dust, such as Tempo Dust, Evergreen Dust or D-Fense Dust.

Ground bees can be aggressive, so care must be taken to prevent agitating the nest. Experts recommend spraying at night when the bees are less active.

Although insecticides are effective against ground bees, water is also a deterrent. Simply saturating the ground around the bees' nest causes the insects to relocate to dry land.
