What is the insertion of the pectoralis minor?

The insertion of the pectoralis minor muscle is the coracoid process of the scapula. Its origin is the anterior surfaces of the sternal ends of ribs three, four and five.

The pectoralis minor muscle is a triangular-shaped muscle that is located in the upper chest directly underneath the pectoralis major muscle. It is responsible for moving the scapula forward towards the chest wall. This muscle is also responsible for stabilizing the scapula during shoulder and spine movements. The muscle is innervated by the medial pectoral nerve, which is directly attached to the eighth cranial nerve and the first thoracic nerve.
