An Internet call alert is a piece of software that informs Internet users if they are receiving a call on a dial-up connection. AOL Call Alert is a piece of software that still exists, while PhoneTray Dialup is no longer available.

AOL Call Alert allows users to see who is calling them and either put the Internet connection on pause to answer the phone or ignore the call. Users can talk on the computer or use their regular phone. The service also sends voicemails to email accounts, saving them like sound files. The service also lets users block certain numbers from calling them.
