What is an interview?

An interview is defined as a formal meeting in which one or more persons question, consult or evaluate another person. Interviews are commonly conducted by reporters to gain information on a story or by employers to evaluate an applicant for a job.

It is important to properly prepare for an interview. The interviewer should prepare a list of questions to ask the interviewee. Likewise, the interviewee should consider the questions that may be asked and prepare potential answers. If the interview is for potential employment, the applicant should dress professionally for the interview. Additionally, the applicant should bring a resume and portfolio if appropriate.
