The global production of aluminum cans is around 180 billion cans per year, as of 2015. Manufacturers typically make aluminum cans using recycled aluminum, with around 68 percent of the aluminum in most cans derived from recycled material. Consumers around the world recycle around 69 percent of all aluminum beverage cans each year.
