Ada Lovelace is considered the first computer programmer and the first to write software for a computer. The program was published along with her notes for Babbage's Analytical Engine in 1843, though the Engine was never completed.
Ada Lovelace was born in 1815 to Annabella Milbanke and romantic poet Lord Byron. She studied mathematics from a young age and began a correspondence with Charles Babbage in 1833 following a demonstration of his Difference Engine.
Babbage later designed his Analytical Engine, a mechanical computer that was the first proposed programmable computer. Despite the efforts of Babbage and Lovelace, the Analytical Engine remained unfinished due to a lack of funds.
