A genius-level IQ is any score over 140. IQ scores are separated into different tiers that indicate intelligence. A score of 120 to 140 is considered very high intelligence.
Scores ranging from 110 to 119 indicate superior intelligence, while scores of 90 to 109 are average intelligence. Seventy percent of people have IQs ranging from 85 to 115, making the genius score of 140 or higher rare. Only 0.25 percent of the population has an IQ that would qualify as genius-level. Mensa is an international society for geniuses who score in the top 98 percent of their respective IQ assessments.
