What is the isochoric process?

An isochoric process is a process in thermodynamics where the performance of work depends on the volume. The volume of a closed system undergoing an isovolumetric process remains constant during the process. In this case, the system does not work because the volume is constant.
It is possible to do work on a system without changing the volume, for example, by stirring the liquid. Theoretically, an isochoric process explains the mutual relationship between pressure and temperature of ideal gases when the volume of the gas remains constant. It means that both the amount and mass of a substance remain constant. Other names for an isochoric process include isometric process or isovolumetric process.
