Does J. K. Rowling plan to write a new Harry Potter book?

Although J.K. Rowling has said that she has no plans to write an eighth book for the Harry Potter series, she does have plans to expand on the Harry Potter universe. Her screenplay, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, is based in the same wizarding world.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set to debut in movie theaters in 2016. A book with the same name was used in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone as a wizarding textbook on the study of magical creatures, called "Magizoology." J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros. have agreed to produce a film based on the book, which is the first in a trilogy.
