What is "Jetpack Joyride"?

"Jetpack Joyride" is an endless running game developed by Halfbrick and available free on iPhone, iPad, Android, Vita and Windows 8. The game centers on Barry Steakfries, a gramophone salesman who steals an experimental jetpack from a top-secret laboratory.

Using the jetpack to ascend and descend, players collect coins which may be used to upgrade from the Machine Gun Jetpack to different jetpacks, such as Snowball, Rainbow and Piggybank Jetpacks.

"Jetpack Joyride" was named Gamasutra Mobile Game of 2011, TUAW Best iPhone Game of 2011 and UGO iOS Game of the Year. It was also awarded Game Revolution Best Mobile Game 2011 and iPhone Game of the Year Runner-Up.
