Who is John Boehner?

As of 2014, John Boehner is the 61st Speaker of the House and Ohio's 8th Congressional District Representative for the U.S. government. He was elected to Congress in 1990 and is a member of the Republican Party.

John Boehner began his political career in 1984 when he was elected to the Ohio General Assembly before moving to Congress. During a long political career, John Boehner served from 2007 to 2011 as the House Minority Leader and as the House Majority Leader from 2006 until 2007. In January of 2011, he became the Speaker of the House. John Boehner was born in Reading, Ohio, and was the second born of 12 brothers and sisters.
