John Paul Jones was a naval officer that lived in Scotland originally, but during the American Revolution became a member of the Continental navy. He would later go on to serve as a member of the Russian navy and then in a battle for the Turks.
John Paul Jones is remembered for his bravery and his role as a strong leader. He manned the Alfred and the Providence in 1776 as an officer. He is also remembered for his fight against the British on the Yorkshire coast. His famous line, "I have not yet begun to fight," was said this night before the fight began.
