Is John Grisham dead?

John Grisham was born on February 8, 1955 in Jonesboro, Ark., and is still alive today. Long before he became a well-known writer, he worked in a law practice in Southaven, Miss., where he worked 60 to 70 hours per week.

After overhearing the testimony of a 12-year-old rape victim at the DeSoto county courthouse, Grisham became inspired to write the novel “A Time to Kill.” He spent three years writing the novel. After many publisher rejections, Wynwood Press bought the novel and published it in June 1988. After the success of his first novel, John Grisham began working on his next book, “The Firm,” which he later sold the film rights to Paramount Pictures for $600,000.
