CNN's John King is based in Washington D.C. because he is the station's current chief national correspondent as of 2015. This role requires him to stay close to the White House.
King has worked for CNN since May 1997 and rose to the position of chief national correspondent in April 2005. Prior to his current role he served as the station's senior White House correspondent from 1999 to 2005, reporting on issues such as the Iraq War and the September 11 terrorist attacks. King is also the anchor of "Inside Politics," a weekly program featuring a panel of top-tier political correspondents.
