Patriots player Julian Edelman is Jewish. Edelman's father is Jewish and his mother is not, Edelman identifies himself as being Jewish, despite being raised Christian.

Julian Francis Edelman was born on May 22, 1986 in Redwood City, California, to Francis and Angie Edelman. He began his football career in high school where he was the quarterback for Woodside High School.

Edelman has been part of the NFL since 2009. He has been a two-time AFC champion and made USA Today's All-Joe Team. He has several nicknames given to him by fellow teammates including 'The Energizer Bunny' and his favorite, 'The Squirrel.'
