Physical symptoms of kidney stones include lower body pain, nausea and a frequent sensation of having to urinate, according to WebMD. People with kidney stones can also feel pain while urinating and experience fever and chills.
WebMD explains that small kidney stones can pass through completely unnoticed, but larger ones frequently cause pain in the lower back, side, abdomen, groin and testicles. Kidney stones can prevent someone from being able to find a comfortable resting position. The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases reports that someone with kidney stones typically feels pain while urinating. The nausea caused by kidney stones can lead to vomiting and flank pain.
