King Khufu was an Egyptian pharaoh who is best known for building the Great Pyramid at Giza. The Great Pyramid is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Khufu reigned over Egypt from 2589 B.C. until 2566 B.C. He ruled Egypt in the Fourth Egyptian Dynasty and was the son of King Sneferu and Queen Hetepheres. He had three wives, nine sons and 15 daughters. He was also known as Cheops. He died in 2566 B.C. and was buried in Giza. His tomb was robbed and his mummy was never found. He was succeeded by his son Djedefra.
