Have any knee replacements been recalled?
By Forinfos - 12/12/2025 - 0 comments
As of June 2015, several companies that produce knee replacements have had recalls for several possible reasons, according to Drugwatch. These companies include Stryker, Smith & Nephew and Biomet.
There are multiple reasons that a knee replacement series could be recalled. Knee replacement components could fail prematurely or loosen, which lead to injuries or infection, Drugwatch states. When issues such as these occur, the company may issue a recall. Reports of adverse effects by the consumer put pressure on the company in question in order to get it to issue a recall; otherwise it may not be worth the device maker's time or money to do so.
