Is Kool-Aid unhealthy?

Kool-Aid is an unhealthy drink option, according to a 2012 CNN article. Just three servings of a sugary drink, such as Kool-Aid, contain 500 calories of added sugar and elevate LDL cholesterol levels over time.
Kool-Aid has added vitamin C, and consumers are able to control the amount of sugar, so it is a better choice than other soft drinks and soda. However, the large amount of sugar and lack of any other nutritional value makes it a drink that is best consumed in moderation. Water and fresh fruit juices are the healthiest drink choices. Adding fresh fruit slices to carbonated water is a refreshing and healthy alternative to sugary drinks.
