Lakes are home to which animals?

Microscopic animals like algae and protozoan live in lakes, as well as larger animals, such as frogs, reptiles, birds and turtles. Animals of various sizes live in lakes all around the world.

A lake is a large body of freshwater that is fed by streams and rivers. Other living things, such as plants, fish, insects and even hippos, live in lakes. Lakes also serve as temporary homes to migrating birds.
