What language was the Quran originally written in?

The Quran was originally written in Arabic. It is the primary religious text for Muslims, and it is considered the literal word of God as spoken to the prophet Muhammad.
Muslims believe that the angel Gabriel delivered the word of God, or "Allah" in the original Arabic text, to Muhammad. It is believed that this recitation was given in the Arabic language, so some Muslims view any translation from Arabic to be a corruption of God's speech. Although this is considered a form of blasphemy, some translations have been tolerated to an extent. For example, there have been translations into Turkish and Farsi, for Turks and Iranians, respectively.
