How does lantana grass do in the winter?
By Forinfos - 11/02/2026 - 0 comments
While most varieties of lantana are generally hardy and able to tolerate a light frost, temperatures below 28 F can kill everything above the roots. Most lantana varieties are unable to survive in colder northern climates.
Lantana is a genus encompassing about 150 different species of perennial flowering plants. These plants are native to the tropical regions of Africa and the Americas and do best in subtropical and temperate climates. It is best to delay pruning lantana plants until after March. People cultivate lantana plants for their flowers. Some species of lantana are invasive in regions of Asia, Southern Africa and Australia.
