The second largest city by population in Kansas was Overland Park, with a population of 173,372. Overland Park also had the second highest percentage growth in population since the 2000 census among the five largest cities in the state, at 16.3 percent. Kansas City was the third largest, with 145,768 residents. The capital, Topeka, came in fourth, with 127,473 residents. Olathe was in fifth place, with 125,892 residents, a 35.4 percent increase since the 2000 census.
