What is the largest eagle in the world?

The largest eagle in the world is Steller's sea eagle. It weighs between 13 to 20 pounds and has a wingspan of up to 8 feet.

Stellar's sea eagles are only believed to breed in far eastern Russia, along the Bering Sea and Sea of Okhotsk. During the winter, many of them migrate from their breeding grounds in Russia to Japan.

Steller's sea eagles are carnivores and primarily eat cod and salmon. They also eat crabs, ducks, gulls, squid and shellfish by diving and clutching their prey in their long talons.

These eagles are revered in Japan, where they are a national symbol and known as O-washi.
