Empire Company Limited no longer runs any movie theaters in Canada. The company sold all of its theaters in 2013 to two different theater companies in an effort to focus the Empire's resources on its food retail business.

The largest movie theater in Canada is the AMC Yonge Dundas 24, and it is owned by Cineplex Entertainment. The theater was opened in 2008 and contains 24 screens. It is located in Toronto, Ontario at the intersection of Yonge Street and Dundas Street. The theaters are found on the top floors of 10 Dundas East, an entertainment, retail and office development.
