What is the largest size allowed for carry-on luggage?

The rule is that carry-on luggage must be smaller than 22 inches tall, 14 inches wide and 9 inches deep. It must be small enough to fit in the overhead compartment or under the seat.

Besides these bags, passengers may also have one personal bag such as a laptop bag or personal tote or purse.

Bags that fit into the acceptable carry-on size range must also fall into the proper weight category. Bags measuring 22 x 14 x 9 inches may not weigh more than 40 pounds and smaller bags, such as those measuring 21 x 13 x 9 inches may not weigh more than 26.4 pounds.
